The naturally occurring infrared, “warm energy”, produced by the human body constantly fluctuates.  When the level is high, we feel healthy and better equipped to deal with physical challenges.  When the infrared level begins to decline, we can age quicker and become more prone to illness.

Infrared heat is completely healthy and safe for all living things.  Being exposed to higher levels of infrared rays can increase metabolism and blood circulation, while raising core body temperature. By raising your core body temperature through infrared therapy, it causes similar reactions to moderate exercise, such as sweating and increased heart rate.  Compared to a traditional sauna, which uses heat to warm the air around you, the infrared body wrap heats your body directly.

Since you’ll first start out with ten minutes on the WBV-machine, you can wear anything that you’d normally wear to work-out.No worries if you aren’t wearing athletic gear – feel free to come in with whatever you have on.The most important factor is that you’ll have to take off your shoes to receive the main benefits of the vibrating platform.Don’t worry; we’ll remind you to take off your shoes for the Whole-Body Vibration.

Once you’re ready to sweat we’ll give you a one-size fits all, head-to-toe, disposable mesh sweat suit. It’s breathable and captures your sweat. What you decide to wear underneath the suit is up to you. Most of the clients are nude while wearing the suit, but you can wear a sports bra, underwear, or shorts, or a bathing suit underneath.Keep in mind that you’ll leave with soaked clothes if you do decide to wear anything underneath the sweat suit, so bring a change to go home in.

You can sweat in the infrared body wraps only once per day. Most sweaters come in an average 2 – 3 times per week.iSWEAT LODGE recommends that you use the sweat wraps every other day.

The total process with WBV and infrared wrap lasts a total of 60 – 70 minutes. If you’re doing the WBV and wrap combo, you’ll use the vibration machine for 10-minutes and sweat in the wrap for 50-minutes.If you’re only using the WBV-machine, you can go up to 20-minutes per session. Keep in mind that you’ll need to schedule time for check-in (fill out paperwork and go over the process if you’re a new client) and change into the sweat suit and towel off and dry before leaving, which can take another 10 minutes.

No.It’s true that the majority of the sweat experienced with infrared wraps is water. An average person can sweat up to 1,000 grams or more in a 50-minute session. The sweat is also mixed with toxins, chemicals and trace amounts of subcutaneous fat.The wraps at iSWEAT LODGE are heated up to 60-degrees Celsius and fat becomes water soluble at 44-degrees Celsius.

The best thing you can do is hydrate the day of your wrap. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water leading up to your sweat session. Also, eat a light meal a couple hours before your appointment. You don’t want to come in right after a heavy meal.Keep in mind that you should continue to hydrate after your sweat session. You will see the best results if you are following a healthy diet and drinking plenty of water

iSWEAT LODGE requires all clients to fill out a liability release form and sign a waiver prior to a session. Please consult your doctor first. No one under the age of 18 is allowed to sweat without the permission of a guardian. Anyone over the age of 65 should get consent from a physician.Click here for list of related health concerns and must receive consent from their doctor before sweating.

Sorry, no you can NOT sweat if pregnant. Infrared heat or any type of increased heat is not safe for a fetus.

In regards to breast feeding, to be completely honest there is no simple yes/no answer.  Infrared saunas and wraps are known for their effectiveness in helping the body detox from what we eat and what we come in contact with in our environment. One concern about detoxing while breastfeeding is that the toxins leaving the body MAY impact the breast milk. There is not much evident to support it for a clear cut answer. If you have been working to maintain a healthy, clean diet and don’t need to detoxify your body too intensely, the detoxifying benefit of using Infrared may not impact your breast milk as much.

Please note that the warmth may be effective in increasing lactation in breastfeeding mothers, according to some studies, but care should be taken in using it for this purpose. We recommend confirming with your Doctor before doing a session to get their opinion and suggest doing shorter, infrequent sessions and even avoid breastfeeding for 24hrs after a session.

EMF stands for electromagnetic field, and the “low EMF” feature indicates that a product generates a harmless amount of EMF radiation. In the case of our Infrared wraps, this is due to new technology built into the wrap itself. The wrap was tested with an EMF meter placed inside the center of the wrap. Doing this resulted in the discovery that the EMFs constantly remained in the range of less than or equal to 0.3 milligauss throughout operation. In contrast, when another similar looking far infrared wrap was tested, the EMFs jump off the scale — up to 100 milligauss.

For reference, the recommended safe level is 0.5 – 2.5 milliguass. The EPA (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency) has proposed a safety standard of 3 mG.  To put it another way, when it comes to other far infrared wraps, you might as well be laying on top of a microwave oven!
